Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct support and assistance with daily living activities such as meal preparation, personal hygiene, and household tasks.
• Assist with planning and participating in recreational and social activities to promote engagement and personal growth.
• Implement individualized care plans and strategies to address specific needs and goals.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of the individual at all times.
• Maintain open communication with the individual, family members, and other care team members to ensure cohesive support.
• Foster an inclusive, respectful, and supportive environment.
• Document and report any significant changes in behavior or health status.

Qualifications:
• Previous experience in respite care, personal assistance, or a related field is preferred.
• Understanding of autism and experience working with autistic individuals is highly beneficial.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to remain calm and patient in challenging situations.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation may be required depending on location.
• CPR and First Aid certification is a plus.
• Familiarity with Self-Determination Program (SDP) and FMS Agency.

Working Conditions:
• Flexible hours with potential for evening and weekend shifts.
• Work may include occasional travel for activities and appointments.
