Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Traveling Nurse Practitioner (NP) to provide Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) and comprehensive medication management services to residents in nursing homes and long-term care facilities throughout South Arkansas.
The ideal candidate is compassionate, adaptable, and comfortable working independently while traveling between multiple facilities in the region.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care
• Deliver Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) services, including evaluation, initiation, and maintenance of medications such as buprenorphine and naltrexone, in accordance with Arkansas and federal guidelines.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments, physical exams, and diagnostic evaluations for residents with chronic medical, behavioral health, or substance use needs.
• Manage and prescribe previously prescribed psychiatric medications as needed
• Perform medication reconciliation and ensure compliance with best practices and safety standards.
• Work collaboratively with facility physicians, nurses, behavioral health teams, and pharmacists.
• Provide crisis management and support patients experiencing withdrawal symptoms when needed.

Care Coordination & Documentation
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation within facility EMR systems.
• Develop individualized care and treatment plans, monitoring progress and modifying plans as appropriate.
• Communicate changes in residents’ conditions or treatment plans to interdisciplinary team members and family or responsible parties.
• Assist with quality improvement initiatives and support facilities in meeting state and federal regulatory requirements.

Travel & Facility Support
• Travel regularly to nursing homes and long-term care facilities throughout South Arkansas.
• Establish positive working relationships with facility staff and leadership to enhance continuity and quality of care.
• Provide on-site care with occasional telehealth follow-up as appropriate.

Qualifications
• Current Nurse Practitioner license in Arkansas; a multistate license a plus.
• Active DEA registration with authority to prescribe controlled substances; MAT experience or training preferred.
• Experience working in medication-assisted treatment and/or psychiatric settings strongly preferred.
• Ability to work independently, travel consistently, and manage a flexible schedule.
• Strong communication, clinical judgment, and documentation skills.

Schedule & Work Environment
• Travel-based role covering facilities in South Arkansas, specifically El Dorado, Camden, Magnolia, Mine Creek, Hill Crest, including both rural and small-community settings.
• Flexible scheduling based on facility needs.
• Primarily on-site work with limited telehealth involvement.
