II position. The recruitment for the Mental Health Clinician I and Mental Health Clinician II will be merged for interview and hiring purposes. The successful candidate may be hired from either level..**
• WORK YEAR:** Full time: 7 hours per day/Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 3:30 pm/11 months/183 duty days, 215 total paid days annually, including vacation and holidays. (Prorated upon hire)
• START DATE:** As soon as possible after interview
• SALARY:** Salary Schedule 17C, $44.83 - $57.22 per hour. Placement dependent on experience. Annual stipend pay: Master's $750, or Doctorate $1,250 (Prorated upon hire).

Under the supervision of the assigned Administrator and within the scope of their training, the Mental Health Clinician I provides assessment, diagnosis, counseling, and psychotherapeutic treatment to children and adults; may provide educational consulting services to other staff, community agencies, and the public, and may do related work as required.

This is an entry-level position leading to work as a credentialed Mental Health Clinician II. Positions require that incumbents work within the scope of a:
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT); or Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT); OR
PhD with a license in Clinical Psychology or Marriage and Family Therapy; OR
Masters of Social Work with either a license (LCSW) or registration (ACSW) ; OR
Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) or a Professional Clinical Counselor Registered Intern (APCC)
• *EXAMPLE OF DUTIES: (May include but is not limited to the following)**
• Performs intensive casework services with children and adult clients or their relatives through individual or group therapy
• Participates in the intake process in the evaluation of problems presented and in the development of treatment plans
• Gathers data relative to a client's personal, social, and emotional history by interviewing client, relatives, friends, teachers, and employers
• Prepares case histories with particular emphasis on psycho-social factors affecting the client
• Cooperates with other staff members and with community agencies in carrying out treatment plans
• Provides consultation and case management with school staff, other departments and outside agency providers
• Interprets and explains to school staff, community groups, and outside agency providers, the social, emotional, and behavioral factors pertaining to the student's disability in order to provide a better understanding of how these factors are impacting the student's educational progress
• Interprets and implements evidence-based methods of treatment for social, emotional, and behavioral problems related to the student's assessed areas of need
• Prepares records and reports related to progress on goals and psychosocial status assessments
• Prepares LEA Medi-Cal billing logs for all appropriate services

• Biological, behavioral, and environmental aspects of emotional disturbance, mental health disabilities, and/or substance abuse
• The scope and activities of public and private health and welfare agencies and other available community resources
• Principles and techniques of mental health consultation, education, and prevention within the community
• LEA Medi-Cal billing practices and required record-keeping
• Ability To:**
• Effectively apply psychotherapeutic techniques of a complex nature in the treatment of individual clients and groups
• Develop and maintain cooperative, constructive relatio ships with clients and their families, members of other professional disciplines, social agencies, and colleagues
• Prepare clear, concise, and comprehensive casework records, and make sound recommendations on the basis of such information
• Organize and manage a caseload
• Provide targeted case management including regular collaboration with school staff, service providers, family members, and outside agency providers
• Education And Experience:**
• Possession of a Master's Degree or higher in Psychology or Marriage and Family Therapy with either a valid California license in Marriage and Family Therapy (LMFT) or Marriage and Family Therapist Registered Intern (AMFT)
OR
• Possession of a Master's Degree in Social Work with either a valid California license as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or registration as an Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW)
OR
• Valid California license as a Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) or a Professional Clinical Counselor Registered Intern (APCC)

• Valid California License as a Clinical Psychologist
