Job Description

As a Speech-Language Pathologist at CHOP, you will play a crucial role in helping children reach their full potential and improve their overall quality of life. Conduct comprehensive evaluations of children with communication disorders to determine their individual needs and develop appropriate treatment plans.
Provide evidence-based speech and language therapy services to children in an inpatient setting, utilizing a variety of treatment techniques and modalities.
Collaborate with other members of the multidisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and physical therapists, to ensure holistic and coordinated care for patients.
Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed to meet individual goals and objectives.
Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing education and support regarding their child's communication disorder and treatment plan.
Participate in team meetings and case conferences to discuss patient progress and develop comprehensive care plans.
Stay up-to-date on the latest research and advancements in the field of speech and language pathology, incorporating new techniques and strategies into practice.
Maintain accurate and timely records in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards.
Adhere to ethical and professional standards of practice, ensuring patient confidentiality and privacy at all times.
Provide supervision and mentorship to Speech-Language Pathology students and Clinical Fellows as assigned.
Participate in hospital-wide initiatives and quality improvement projects related to speech and language services.
Represent the hospital and the Speech-Language Pathology department in a positive and professional manner at all times.
Attend continuing education opportunities to maintain licensure and stay current in the field.
Support a culture of excellence, compassion, and family-centered care within the hospital and the community.
