The therapist collaborates with school personnel, families, and community providers to deliver trauma-informed, evidence-based interventions and ensure coordinated, client-centered care.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Provide individual therapy to children and adolescents within the school setting
• Conduct diagnostic assessments and develop individualized treatment plans based on identified needs
• Monitor client progress and update treatment plans as clinically appropriate
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation, including progress notes and service records
• Collaborate with teachers, school staff, families, and external providers to support student success
• Implement evidence-based and trauma-informed therapeutic interventions
• Support students in developing coping skills, emotional regulation, and positive social interactions
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case consultations, and school-based planning sessions
• Respond to crisis situations and provide appropriate intervention and follow-up
• Ensure compliance with Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM), licensing board standards, CARF, and agency policies
• Participate in ongoing training, supervision, and professional development
Qualifications
• Active Ohio licensure required: LSW, LISW, LPC, or LPCC
• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work (Master's prefered), Master's degree in Counseling
• Experience working with children, adolescents, and/or families preferred
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care and evidence-based practices
• Strong clinical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively within a school and interdisciplinary team environment
• Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and documentation standards preferred
• Valid Ohio driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance required

• Experience in school-based or community mental health settings
• Strong engagement and rapport-building skills with youth
• Ability to manage crisis situations effectively and professionally
• Cultural competency and ability to work with diverse populations
• Strong time management and ability to work independently
