We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Direct Support Professional to join our team during evening shifts, overnights, and weekends. This vital role involves providing personalized care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring their safety, well-being, and independence. Duties
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
• Monitor residents’ health by observing vital signs, medication administration, and overall patient care in accordance with care plans.
• Support residents in engaging in social activities, community outings, and recreational programs to promote social integration.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing routine cleaning tasks and adhering to sanitation standards.
• Operate specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices to ensure safe mobility assistance.
• Document observations accurately while respecting privacy regulations such as HIPAA; report any concerns promptly.
• Collaborate with team members to develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to each resident’s needs.

Skills
• Experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, or home & community care settings.
• Knowledge of patient observation techniques and monitoring vital signs effectively.
• Proficiency in providing care for individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, dementia, or Alzheimer’s disease.
• Strong understanding of medication administration procedures and safety protocols.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary.
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of resident information.
• Excellent communication skills coupled with patience and empathy for diverse populations.
