What is ABA?
ABA is a scientific, evidence-based practice that combines a wide variety of techniques and procedures that have proven to be effective for socially significant behavior change. ABA involves observing how learners react to their environment, implementing a combination of behavior modification and skill development strategies, and collecting and analyzing progress data to ensure accurate results. MKE Behavioral focuses on play-based, naturalistic teaching opportunities to increase social skills, language/communication, and school-readiness.
Job Description
MKE Behavioral is seeking a passionate and dedicated Behavior Technician (BT) to join our team in a part-time or internship position. The BT is responsible for implementing behavior change programs created by the Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA), collecting accurate behavior and skill acquisition data, and writing objective and detailed session notes. Sessions will be conducted in a combination of in home and in clinic environments. Home services provide opportunities for teaching daily living skills, independent play skills, and language/communication development; clinic services focus on social and peer play, transitions to work-related tasks, and general school-readiness goals.
Obtaining RBT Credential (Preferred)
During the onboarding process the candidate will go through an extensive, online/on-site 40-hour paid training. Once completed, the trainee will be credited with a Certificate of Completion to be used for pursuing the required RBT credential through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB). Other requirements for the RBT credential include a completed Competency Assessment administered by a BCBA within the company. Once these two items are completed, the trainee will be eligible for the RBT board exam.
