Basic Qualifications
Education/Training: Master's Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Education, Psychology or closely related field
Certifications/Licensure: Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification or board eligible, meaning full completion all required practicum hours. Approved background check requirements. Successful completion of employer provided certification crisis intervention.
Skill(s): Strong background in applied behavior analysis, clinical application of applied behavior analysis with individuals with social emotional disorders, intellectual/developmental disabilities and autism spectrum disorders. Strong experience working with individuals with significant challenging behaviors.
Experience: Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in clinical service delivery and supervision within public or private school settings and in implementing evidence-based procedures for individuals with developmental disabilities, autism and challenging behaviors as well as program management and supervising and training staff.
Interrelationships: Works cooperatively with all members of the multidisciplinary team, teachers, families, nursing, social work, occupational therapists, speech therapists, physical therapists, etc.to ensure that each student's educational requirements are met.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
General Responsibilities
The Behavior Analyst is responsible for the oversight of clinical programming within Y.A.L.E. School Philadelphia's classrooms. They will have a caseload of between 3-4 classrooms depending on the need of the students in the rooms. The Behavior Analyst is responsible for the development of function-based interventions, behavior support plan development, clinical training for program implementation and program fidelity for his/her caseload. The position will require direct student contact and student observations across multiple classrooms. This position requires active supervision and training of teachers and teaching assistants within the school setting. It will require the ability to work professionally and in collaboration with peers and supervisory personnel. The position requires a proactive approach to program development emphasizing ongoing student skill development, acquisition and maintenance, increased independence, the reduction of intensive interventions and meeting IEP behavior and academic objectives
This position requires the employee to have proficient skills in working with children and young adults who exhibit complex behavior disorders sometimes including high frequency, high intensity dangerous behaviors. This individual must be willing to work directly with students who display aggressive, disruptive, and self- injurious behaviors. This individual must have proven training and direct experience with behavior management strategies, be proficient with the science of Applied Behavior Analysis and demonstrate a clinical skill set that emphasizes a most effective least restrictive approach towards program design.
