Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Business Development Manager – Biotech role based in Warrenville, IL. The Business Development Manager will identify, qualify, and close new business opportunities with biotech organizations, focusing on Cloudbyz eClinical solutions. Day-to-day responsibilities include prospecting and building a robust pipeline, conducting discovery calls and product presentations, and collaborating with sales engineering and product teams to shape tailored proposals. The role involves managing the end-to-end sales cycle, including RFP responses, contract negotiations, and deal closure, while maintaining accurate forecasts and CRM records. The Business Development Manager will also cultivate long-term relationships with key stakeholders, gather market and customer feedback, and partner with marketing on campaigns, events, and thought leadership targeted to the biotech segment.
Qualifications
• Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management within biotech, life sciences, or eClinical/clinical trials technology.
• Strong understanding of clinical trial processes, eClinical solutions (e.g., CTMS, CTFM, EDC, eTMF, eCOA), and regulatory environments in life sciences.
• Demonstrated skills in prospecting, pipeline development, consultative selling, and closing enterprise or mid-market SaaS/technology deals.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities, with confidence engaging executive and scientific stakeholders.
• Competence using CRM platforms (Salesforce experience preferred), sales analytics, and standard productivity tools.
• Strategic thinking and market research skills to identify target accounts, analyze competitors, and shape go-to-market activities.
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally with product, marketing, implementation, and customer success teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, business, or a related field
