Job Title: Research Assistant
POSITION SUMMARY
Support the company’s research laboratory operations with Molecular Biology and Biochemistry experiments.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Perform hands-on laboratory work necessary molecular biology and biochemistry for development and characterization of methods for protein analysis products
• General Biochemistry laboratory experiments
• General Molecular Biology laboratory experiments
• Handling clinical specimens
• Prepare technical reports, summaries, protocols, data analysis and maintain laboratory notebooks
Maintain critical materials and equipment
• Maintain laboratory equipment through troubleshooting
Contribute to a safe and secure work environment by following established standards and procedures
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
• B.S. or M.S (M.A) degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Cellular and Molecular Biology or related field
• Demonstrated use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES – KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
• Excellent written and oral communication skill
WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Possible exposure to biological and chemical hazards
• Must be able to sit for long periods
