Position Overview
As a School-Based BCBA, you will work closely with school teams to provide direct behavioral support and consultation services. Your work will help students access learning through effective intervention strategies and positive behavior supports.
Common duties may include:
• Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs)
• Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
• Staff training / behavior coaching
• Data tracking, progress monitoring, and intervention updates
• Supporting classroom teams, paraprofessionals, and related services providers
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct FBAs and develop individualized BIPs based on student needs
• Train and support staff on behavior protocols, de-escalation strategies, and fidelity
• Provide consultation for challenging behaviors across settings (classroom, transitions, etc.)
• Collaborate with special education teams, teachers, administrators, and families
• Support RBTs / Behavior Technicians (if applicable) with supervision and training
• Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with school/district requirements
• Participate in IEP meetings as needed and contribute behavior-related recommendations
Qualifications
• BCBA Certification required
• Maryland licensure preferred (or ability to obtain if required by the role)
• School-based experience preferred but not required
• Strong communication skills and team collaboration mindset
• Ability to work with diverse learners and behavioral profiles
Pay / Compensation
We offer competitive compensation and pay is based on:
• Years of BCBA experience
• School-based or clinical background
• Level of responsibility (caseload consult vs. direct support)
• Schedule commitment and urgency of placement
