Kind, educated parents looking for autism-aware care for highly verbal 19-year-old son in Wilmington. We value sitting at meals together, getting outside into nature, and not swearing.
Candidate:
Ideally a special ed teacher or para looking to earn extra money.
-no public transportation, must have reliable car
non-smoker, comfortable with pets (one dog & cat) and has autism experience.
• Job could grow in near future to more hours, nights/weekends for respite. Job has potential for live-in care in a few years*
Son:
Interests: music, vehicles, Legos.
Intellectually similar to a 7-year-old.
Attention seeking behavior = tossing food on the floor from pantry & refrigerator.
Likes people but is often anxious & struggles to leave house or car.
Scared of fireworks, motorcycles other loud unpredictable sounds.
