Job Description
ervices under Idaho Medicaid’s Children’s Habilitation Intervention Services (CHIS) program.
This is a clinical-level role responsible for assessment, behavior plan design, and supervision of behavior intervention services for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Position Responsibilities
• Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA)
• Develop and modify Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP)
• Design skill acquisition and behavior reduction programming
• Analyze behavioral data and treatment progress
• Provide clinical direction to intervention staff
• Ensure Medicaid-compliant documentation
• Collaborate with families, schools, and interdisciplinary providers
Minimum Qualifications (Idaho Medicaid – Behavior Intervention Specialist)
Applicants must meet Idaho Medicaid CHIS qualification standards under IDAPA 16.03.09.
✔ Education Requirement
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in psychology, education, social work, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), or related human services field
OR
• Bachelor’s degree in another field plus documented training in behavior assessment and intervention
✔ Required Experience Hours
• Minimum 1,200 documented hours working directly with individuals with intellectual disabilities, developmental disabilities, or significant behavioral disorders
Experience must demonstrate competency in:
• Conducting behavioral assessments
• Designing and implementing behavior intervention programs
• Data collection and analysis
• Evidence-based behavior methodology
✔ Additional Requirements
• Current CPR & First Aid certification
• Ability to pass Idaho Department of Health & Welfare Criminal History & Background Check
• Ability to meet annual CHIS continuing education requirements (minimum 12 hours annually, including ethics and behavior methodology)
• Maintain documentation sufficient for Medicaid audit review
Preferred Qualifications
• RBT certification
• Experience in Medicaid-funded ABA services
• Experience working with autism spectrum disorder
