Responsibilities
• Implement individualized behavior intervention plans based on applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles to support clients’ developmental goals.
• Collect, record, and analyze data on client behaviors to monitor progress and inform treatment adjustments.
• Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including grooming, hygiene, feeding, and other essential self-care tasks.
• Support clients during therapy sessions by teaching new skills, managing behaviors, and encouraging participation in activities.
• Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of sessions, including progress notes, medical records, and care plans in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Collaborate with supervisors and team members to develop and update personalized care plans tailored to each client’s needs.
• Foster a positive and engaging environment that promotes learning, socialization, and emotional well-being for individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities.
Qualifications
• Valid certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or eligible for certification; ongoing training preferred.
• Experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities, especially in behavioral therapy or special education settings.
• Knowledge of applied behavior analysis (ABA), behavior management techniques, and data collection methods.
• Ability to assist with ADLs and implement teaching strategies that support skill development.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology, medical documentation practices, and confidentiality standards such as HIPAA.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with clients’ families, caregivers, and team members.
• Patience, compassion, and a proactive attitude toward supporting behavioral health initiatives.
