Qualifications
- •Eligibility: Minimum of 18 years old (or 16 years old with a high school diploma)
- •Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or citizen of a U.S. territory
- •Physical Ability: Capable of standing for long durations and carrying moderate to heavy loads (up to 70 lbs) on a regular basis

Responsibilities
- •In this position, you perform a variety of clerical, customer service, and mail processing duties
- •You provide a critical service to your community by ensuring the accurate distribution of mail and assisting the public with essential postal needs
- •As a Clerk Assistant, you work in a fast-paced environment with high job security and clear paths for advancement
- •Mail Preparation: Sorting, hoisting, and shifting moderate to heavy quantities of mail and packages to prepare for distribution and dispatch
- •Retail Service: Assist the public with general mailing needs, including selling stamps, processing specialized mail, and answering customer inquiries
- •Administrative Tasks: Help customers with change of address forms, mail holds, and issuing post office box keys while maintaining accurate records
- •Financial Accountability: Retrieve dues for postage charges on delivery and maintain accurate daily financial records for retail transactions
- •Environment: Fulfill responsibilities indoors, adhering to strict schedules and ensuring compliance with all USPS safety policies and organizational regulations
