Duties
• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including diagnostic evaluations using ICD-10 and ICD-9 coding systems, to determine the severity of addiction and mental health issues.
• Develop personalized treatment plans incorporating behavioral therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and applied behavior analysis techniques.
• Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions focused on addiction medicine, mental health counseling, and behavioral health strategies.
• Implement crisis intervention protocols to manage acute situations effectively while ensuring patient safety and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams, including case management, social work, hospital staff, and community providers to ensure holistic patient care.
• Maintain accurate medical documentation, records, and notes in accordance with healthcare standards and CPT coding requirements for billing purposes.
• Lead educational sessions on topics such as PTSD care, substance use disorders, behavior management, and relapse prevention strategies.
Requirements
• Valid state licensure as an Addiction Counselor or equivalent certification demonstrating clinical expertise in addiction medicine.
• Proficiency in patient assessment techniques and diagnostic evaluation tools for behavioral health conditions.
• Skilled in delivering individual and group therapy using evidence-based approaches such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), behavioral therapy, and social work principles.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage diverse populations including children & families when necessary.
