Job Description

CORE ABA is looking to hire experienced individuals who are excited and passionate about working with children with special needs! The current position requires daytime, afternoon and evening availability during the week at our Center based location conveniently located in Bethel. We offer competitive rates, ongoing supervision, and the opportunity to learn the principles of applied behavior analysis. The job consists of working one-to-one in a center-based setting and in the homes of children with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorders) and their families. Primary tasks include providing reinforcement for appropriate behaviors, teaching new skills, ongoing data collection, having fun while teaching and program/behavior plan implementation. We teach language, play, self-help, toileting, and social skills, amongst many other things! If you are interested and available in setting up an interview, please send your resume and availability.

Responsibilities and Duties

Roles and Responsibilities:
• Implement behavioral programming (skill acquisition and replacement behavior skills) in the setting as directed by the BCBA. The therapist must follow support plan goals for individuals receiving services. The therapist must prepare for data collection and implement the designated measurement procedures. The ABA therapist will learn to describe behavior and environment in observable and measurable terms, conduct preference assessments and assist in designing Functional Behavior Assessments, Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and other assessments. Assist to design and promote programs to enhance and increase clients’ independence. Additional skills to be taught include Activities of Daily Living, Functional Communication Training and safety training. This will teach consumers to be self sufficient and able to communicate while ensuring safety.
• Participate in competency based training and re-training with other employees on the implementation of behavior interventions, teaching procedures, professionalism, data collection, ethics, and more.
• Participate in and model the delivery of routine, daily behavior management of the individuals served and assume the lead role in crisis management as needed when in the home setting. Assist the program in the development and implementation of community inclusion training with other members of the team.
• Collect and record data on client behaviors and progress on behavior programming. Data should be taken to accurately identify the frequency, duration, and magnitude of the behavior using proper dimensions. The ABA therapist must generate progress and session notes daily according to agency timelines. Graph data for reports in a standardized format. Complete service logs to substantiate billing and individualized Implementation Plans as needed.
• Maintain a therapeutic atmosphere and a positive environment. Provide positive interactions with clients and their families. Therapists must respect individual differences and serve as a role model in the environment while respecting the consumers as individuals. An ABA therapist is a mandated reporter while with clients. RBT's should HAVE FUN with the kids and their families. Take initiatives to teach them new skills using motivation and child choice.
• Receive ongoing education specific to the field of Applied Behavior Analysis.
• Promote the ethical, humane, and effective application of behavior principles.

Qualifications and Skills

RBT certification preferred. We will provide supervision to obtain the credential within 90 days of hire.
