Job Summary
Behavioral Technician position.
MAPS is currently looking for Behavior Technicians who love working to assist children ages 2-18 with developmental delays, in our social and behavioral skills therapy programs.
Our mission is to build a community that offers clients a guided path to develop social skills and friendships, improve quality of life and support families so they may better contribute to and participate in the world.
MAPS offers an inclusion play program designed to include children of diverse cultures and abilities. In addition to this, MAPS provides ABA services to children and their families. The majority of all programs takes place at the Clinic in El Dorado Hills. Our model is based upon Integrated Play Group (IPG) therapy, the Montessori philosophy and methods, such as Positive Behavior support, Applied Behavior Analysis, Positive Discipline and Social and Emotional Education. These methods and philosophies create an environment where children learn appropriate social skills in ways that are carefully designed to be enjoyable for the child. Job Description + Responsibilities
• Implement individualized programs and behavior intervention strategies for children with developmental disabilities in a variety of settings.
• Record data, attend team meetings, and work closely with Behavior Consultant and Board-Certified Behavior Analyst.
• Ability to adhere to all HIPAA requirements, verbal and written ability to communicate effectively with staff, family and community, ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments independently and effectively.
• Willingness to commute to El Dorado Hills, reliable transportation, current driver license and proof of insurance required.
• High School Diploma or GED; Degree in a relevant field preferred but not required.
• Verbal and written ability to communicate effectively with staff, family and community
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments independently and effectively.
• Ability to work cooperatively with a team
• Proof of recent TB test and documentation of immunizations of MMR and Varicella
• Pass a Department of Justice fingerprint screening
• Willingness to take on extra duties as necessary
• Physical demands-run, stand, kneel, crawl, reach, push and lift 50 pounds
• Reliable transportation, current driver license and proof of insurance
Minimum Education Required
• High School Diploma
• Preferred: Bachelor's Degree (or in progress) - not required
• *Preferred Coursework/Experience*
• Coursework in Psychology, Special Education, or A.B.A. Education or related services, ABA Therapy experience and/or knowledge working with ASD or other disabilities.
• RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) Certification preferred. (MAPS will help candidates through the certification process if needed)
