Both the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the European Medicines Agency have guidance and regulations in place for clinical trial diversity planning. According to the FDA, only 5% of clinical trial participants are from racial and ethnic minority groups despite making up nearly 40% of the U.S. population. There is a lot of talk about the need for diversity in clinical trials. However, there is not a lot of action.
