ABA Workforce Mix

The pattern shows a technician-heavy workforce, with substantially more RBTs than BCBAs available to supervise them. Because BCBAs develop treatment plans, supervise RBTs and monitor clinical quality, the relatively smaller supervisory pool may constrain how quickly technician growth becomes expanded ABA capacity. California’s update points to continued ABA workforce expansion, but sustained access will depend on adding supervisory capacity alongside its large RBT pipeline.
