ABA Workforce Dynamics
The registry includes 4 BCBAs and 8 RBTs, plus 1 dual credential holder listed as both BCBA and RBT. These credential counts overlap: the dual credential is included in both the BCBA and RBT totals, so they should not be added as separate people. The pattern points to a larger direct-service RBT workforce than supervisory BCBA capacity. Because BCBAs supervise RBTs and oversee treatment planning, limited supervisor availability may constrain how quickly ABA providers can expand, particularly outside Idaho’s larger population centers.
Workforce Demographics
Of the 45 individual providers, 34 women represented 76% of the individual workforce, compared with 5 men, or 11%, and 6 nonbinary providers, or 13%. The registry also lists 12 organizations. No organization appeared multiple times among the notable entries, while the broader provider list includes activity across Boise, Meridian, Twin Falls, Idaho Falls and Post Falls. Eleven providers carried multiple taxonomies, another overlapping category that should not be interpreted as 11 additional providers.
Idaho’s expanding registry activity suggests continued behavioral health development, but the BCBA-to-RBT mix indicates that building supervisory capacity will be important for improving ABA access statewide.
