Interventions

  • placebo — DRUG
    Once daily injection, under the skin (s.c.) for 12 weeks
  • liraglutide — DRUG
    Once daily injection, under the skin (s.c.) for 12 weeks
  • glimepiride — DRUG
    Tablets administered orally according to current treatment guidelines. Dose adjusted according to the glycaemic response
